Description
The Receiving Clerk is responsible for supporting warehouse and dock operations through the accurate receipt, verification, and processing of incoming materials and shipments. The role ensures inventory accuracy by receiving goods into SAP, auditing deliveries against shipping documentation, and properly labeling and staging materials for storage or quality review. It requires safe operation of Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT), use of computers and handheld scanners, and strong attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment.
The Receiving Clerk works closely with drivers, warehouse personnel, quality teams, and supervisors to maintain efficient material flow while following all safety, operational, and compliance standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and verify inbound shipments from vendors, interplant transfers, and sales returns.
- Accurately process receipts in SAP and maintain inventory accuracy.
- Label and stage inbound materials for storage or quality inspection.
- Audit deliveries against bills of lading, manifests, packing lists, and other shipping documentation.
- Maintain organized and compliant receiving records and documentation.
- Safely operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) and complete daily equipment inspections.
- Maintain dock safety standards and a clean, organized work environment.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse personnel, and leadership teams.
- Support warehouse operations through additional assigned duties and cross‑functional teamwork.
- Adhere to all company safety, sustainability, and ethical standards.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous warehouse, shipping/receiving, or inventory experience preferred.
- SAP, RF scanner, or warehouse management system experience preferred.
- PIT/forklift certification or related equipment experience preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with changing priorities.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and data entry experience.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform repetitive physical tasks.
- Reliable attendance and strong commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence.
The anticipated hourly range for this position is $20.00 to $24.00
. Exact hourly rate depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget, and may vary based on geographic location. This position may also be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, education incentives, and the company’s comprehensive benefits program.
