Overview
The candidate will be responsible for creating detailed plans for cable installations in civil planning projects within commercial areas. This includes sizing serving boundaries using GIS address data, laying out feeder routes, distribution routes, and drops to premises, determining fiber allocations, reviewing field staking sheets, selecting the most effective construction methods for design, and producing constructible design packages using GIS-based software Arc Map.
The role also involves providing CAD support for fiber systems through the creation of permit plan and profile drawings, construction drawings, and conduit designs.
- Draw plans for cables in civil planning for commercial areas.
- Size serving boundaries using GIS address data.
- Lay out feeder routes, distribution routes, and drops to premises.
- Determine fiber allocations.
- Review field staking sheets and decide on the best construction method for design.
- Produce constructible design packages using GIS-based software Arc Map.
- Provide CAD support for fiber systems by creating permit plan and profile drawings, construction drawings, and conduit designs.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Experience in civil drafting within telecommunications construction.
- Knowledge of fiber optic design and mapping software.
- Understanding of GIS and data integration.
Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years experience with AutoCAD.
- At least 1 year of experience in civil mapping preferred.
- Basic understanding of AutoCAD either from recent schooling or work experience.
- Fiber design experience is a plus.
