Senior Process Engineer

The Corbion facility based in Blair, Nebraska is expanding its engineering team to include a Senior Process Engineer reporting to the Engineering & Technology Manager. The role involves engineering efforts in both the lactic acid and lactates plants, continuous improvement campaigns, and managing process safety initiatives.

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering required
• 10+ years of relevant experience in process engineering, preferably biorefining, food or chemical manufacturing
• Detailed understanding of common industrial manufacturing equipment and their applications
• Proven experience applying engineering practices toward feasible solutions
• Comfortability with continuous improvement strategies and experience working in that environment
• Proven ability to multi-task in a fast paced, team environment
• Ability to work well as an independent contributor and in a team atmosphere
• Excellent verbal/written, problem solving and organizational skills
• Fully proficient in Microsoft Applications, AI tools (Copilot) and SAP
• Deep understanding of food safety standards and GMP
• Experience managing small capital projects
• Working knowledge of process safety strategies including PHAs, MI, and MOC

• Serve as the primary subject matter expert for the lactic acid and derivatives processes
• Use engineering background to provide solutions to unique manufacturing problems or improvement opportunities
• Identify areas for process improvement related to production, revenue, reliability, and sustainability
• Assist the reliability engineer on key equipment maintenance activities and standard operating conditions
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site
• Aid in root cause analyses
• Lead process safety measures to ensure adherence to global policies
• Lead front end loading efforts for new project development
• Execute QESH standards per defined roles and responsibilities to ensure personal and product safety and quality
• Assist in new product development

• Lifting materials up to 50 lbs (rarely)
• Walking, standing, taking stairs (frequently)
• Bending, stooping, kneeling/squatting (occasionally)
• Reach outward, reach overhead % (occasionally)
• Sitting (frequently)
• Ability to handle warm temperatures when in processing areas (occasionally)
