We are looking for a Cost Accountant to join our Regional Corporate Finance team, where you will partner closely with Manufacturing and Operations to support cost transparency, inventory accuracy, and profitable growth.
The Role & Your ImpactAs a Cost Accountant, you will be a key financial partner to our manufacturing operations. Your work will directly support pricing decisions, operational improvements, and financial reporting by delivering accurate cost data, insightful analysis, and strong inventory controls. You will collaborate across functions and translate financial information into actionable insights that support both local operations and regional finance objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Calculate full absorption costs for new products and support pricing and profitability analysis.
- Plan, execute, and analyze annual cost changes, including standard cost updates.
- Perform month‑end close activities, including settlement of production orders and variance analysis.
- Communicate cost results, trends, and insights to business finance and operational stakeholders.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, reconciliations, and adherence to control procedures.
- Calculate and record inventory reserves in line with accounting policies.
- Support local and regional finance and manufacturing projects.
- Provide direct support for internal and external audits.
- Business Finance teams to support reporting and analysis.
- Production teams to troubleshoot production orders and cost variances.
- Sourcing and Engineering teams to ensure accurate product costing and cost changes.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience.
- Experience with standard costing, preferably in an SAP environment.
- Proficiency in SAP, Excel, and Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
- Solid understanding of general accounting principles.
- Professional proficiency in English.
- Be highly organized with strong attention to detail and deadlines.
- Be able to adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Be team‑oriented with a professional and collaborative mindset.
- This position is onsite/hybrid in Franklinton, North Carolina or Blair, Nebraska.
- Schedule:
Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend or holiday support as needed. - Travel:
Limited, with occasional travel within North America and to Denmark.
Expected salary range: $65,000‑$75,000.
