Memorial Community Hospital & Health System is seeking a Healthcare Intern to join our team. This internship offers hands‑on exposure to the daily operations of a thriving healthcare organization. Working alongside leaders across multiple departments, the intern will engage in meaningful projects, observe real-world healthcare workflows, and contribute to both clinical and non‑clinical initiatives. This role provides a unique opportunity to gain a well‑rounded understanding of how a healthcare system operates from end to end.
EligibilityRequirements
- This internship is designed for incoming high‑school seniors who reside in Washington County, Nebraska.
- Successful completion of a background check
- Successful completion of a drug screening and physical assessment, as required in healthcare settings
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in healthcare
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, including patient-related information
- Strong attention to detail
- Solid critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment
- Average of 12 hours per week
- Internship hours will take place during regular business hours (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday)
- We will collaborate with the intern to build a schedule that aligns with their school and personal availability
- Exposure to both clinical and non‑clinical departments, offering a comprehensive view of healthcare operations
- Mentorship and guidance from leaders across the organization
- Opportunities to contribute to meaningful projects that support patient care and hospital operations
