The Role & Your Impact

As a Production Operator in the Fermentation Department, you will ensure safety, quality, and compliance of our production processes at Novonesis's industrial biotechnology factory. You will set up, monitor, and maintain equipment and processes used to produce Bio Solutions—enzymes and proteins—by fermenting microbes for various industries.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing raw materials
  • Troubleshooting equipment
  • Operating plant processing computers
  • Making minor repairs and replacing parts
  • Testing materials for quality and compliance
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of industrial manufacturing experience preferred
  • Proficient computer literacy
  • Ability to move freely around the factory and outdoor surroundings (pushing, pulling, kneeling, squatting)
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds unassisted
  • Manual manipulation and operation of equipment and tools (turning valves, aligning hoses)
  • Use of personal protective equipment: uniform, hard hat, eye protection, ear protection, hair net, beard net, respirator
  • Ability to climb stairs and work at heights (ladders, platforms, tanks)
  • Ability to enter and work in confined spaces
  • Pass a written test for certification purposes
Working Conditions
  • Schedule:

    12-hour shifts alternating between days and nights every 2 weeks (6:30-7:00 am/pm)
  • 2-2-3 rotation:
    Week 1—Mon–Tue work, Wed–Thu off, Fri–Sun work;
    Week 2—Mon–Tue off, Wed–Thu work, Fri–Sun off
Additional Information
  • Overtime is frequently available
  • Mandatory certification program with promotion opportunities to Operator II and Senior Operator
Compensation & Benefits
  • Hourly Pay: $25.05 base rate, $3/hr night shift differential, 1.5 times Sunday pay rate
