Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) - $10,000 Sign-on Bonus
Good Shepherd Lutheran Community is seeking an experienced and compassionate Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, the ADON will provide guidance and support to the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day operations of the Nursing Services department. The successful candidate will have a strong background in nursing and leadership, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, and implementing the nursing department's goals and objectives
- Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, including supervising, coaching, and mentoring
- Participate in daily or weekly management team meetings to discuss census changes, resident changes in status, complaints or concerns
- Develop and maintain relationships with physicians, consultants, and community agencies to ensure high-quality care and services
- Monitor and improve quality of care, including compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices
- Participate in budget development and management, including ensuring effective use of resources
- Ensure proper staffing and scheduling to meet resident needs and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless delivery of services
- Participate in performance improvement activities, including quality assessment and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to facility policies, procedures, and standards of conduct
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing home, or other related healthcare facility
- Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the practicing state
- Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long-term care
- Current CPR certification
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to make independent decisions and work with minimal supervision
