Responsibilities
Build and maintain driver relationships to understand and meet driver needs such as home time, payroll, utilities, equipment breakdowns, logging violations, equipment issues, and other related concerns.
Use operating systems, customer systems, telematics, face‑to‑face and phone/text communication to address driver issues.
Partner with Dedicated and Associate Logistics Managers to optimize driver loads based on origin, destination, freight type, miles, stops, directions, and driver availability.
Understand and adhere to customer service expectations, goals, and initiatives to improve value for the customer and Werner.
Interface with billing, vans, customer service, risk, safety, payroll, fuel, maintenance, and external vendors.
Work closely with the Dedicated Logistics Manager and/or Operations Manager to fill and maintain a full board of drivers.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Dedicated Logistics Manager; maintain timely and regular attendance according to the scheduled shift.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Transportation/Logistics, or equivalent, and/or 2-3 years of fleet management or transportation experience in the truckload industry.
- 6 months to 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, proven management ability, and proficiency with computer terminal and satellite communication system.
- Seeing and hearing:
Read documents, view computer screens, answer phones, and communicate in person. - Standing and walking: 75-100%
