Description
The Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining company safety and environmental programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and customer requirements. This position promotes a culture of safety throughout the organization and works closely with project managers, field personnel, subcontractors, and clients to minimize risk, prevent incidents, and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or related field preferred. Or experience equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of safety management experience in construction, roofing, or related industries.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
- Experience with federal projects, including USACE and government contracts, preferred.
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification required.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of EM 385-1-1 standards preferred.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety management software.
Ability to work both in office and field environments, including sitting for extended periods of 5–8 hours per day in a jobsite trailer while performing administrative, scheduling, budgeting, and project coordination duties. Must also be able to walk and navigate active construction sites for extended periods, including uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, and confined spaces, while working in varying weather conditions. Requires the ability to stand, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and occasionally lift or carry up to 25–50 pounds.
Must be able to wear required PPE, perform detailed visual inspections, communicate effectively with field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and clients, and respond quickly to changing project conditions and jobsite emergencies.
