We are seeking Special Education Paraprofessionals for our Blanchard and Okmulgee campuses who believe in the potential of every student and are committed to providing patient, consistent, and meaningful support to students with disabilities.

The Special Education Paraprofessional works alongside special education and general education teachers to support students with disabilities in accessing instruction, developing independence, and making progress toward their individual goals.

This is an important student-support and instructional role
. Paraprofessionals may provide individual or small-group academic support, assist students within general education classrooms, support accommodations and modifications, and help students develop behavioral, communication, social, and independence skills.

The role works under the direction of certified teachers and campus leadership and collaborates closely with the special education team.

Student & Instructional Support

• Provide individual and small-group support under the direction of a certified teacher
• Reinforce academic skills and concepts taught by classroom and special education teachers
• Support students in accessing grade-level instruction and classroom activities
• Implement accommodations, modifications, interventions, and supports as directed by the student's educational team
• Encourage students to develop independence rather than completing tasks for them
• Assist with collecting student data and monitoring progress when directed

Individualized Student Support

• Support students in working toward goals outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Follow established behavior, communication, sensory, and academic support plans
• Provide consistent, patient support while maintaining high expectations for students
• Assist students with transitions, routines, organization, and other school-based needs
• Provide additional personal care, mobility, or daily living support when required by an individual student's needs and within the responsibilities of the position

• Help create an inclusive environment where students with disabilities are active members of the school community
• Build positive, respectful relationships with students
• Maintain student dignity, confidentiality, and privacy at all times
• Encourage belonging, participation, self-advocacy, and independence

• Work collaboratively with special education teachers, general education teachers, related service providers, and campus leadership
• Follow teacher direction and communicate observations or concerns appropriately
• Participate in required training and professional development
• Be receptive to feedback and willing to learn new strategies for supporting students
