A well-established organisation in Bloemfontein is seeking a reliable, organised, and technically minded Solar Administrative Technician to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative and technical support to the solar and electrical operations of the organisation.

The position is ideal for an individual who has a practical understanding of electricity and solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and is comfortable working with quotations, customer information, documentation, and general administration.

Minimum Requirements
  • Grade 12 / Matric

  • Previous administrative, electrical, solar, or technical experience will be an advantage

  • Good understanding of electricity and electrical systems

  • Good understanding of solar PV systems and related components

  • Good understanding of solar system sizing and electrical requirements will be an advantage

  • Experience in preparing quotations, estimates, invoices, or purchase orders will be an advantage

  • Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office
    , particularly Excel and Word

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong numerical and administrative abilities

  • Good attention to detail and accuracy

  • Valid driver's licence and own vehicle OR reliable transport

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Professional, reliable, and customer-focused approach

Skills Required
  • Good understanding of electrical principles and terminology

  • Good understanding of solar PV systems
    , including common components such as:

  • Ability to understand and interpret electrical and solar system specifications

Duties and Responsibilities Administration
  • Provide general administrative support to the solar and electrical department.

  • Maintain accurate customer, supplier, project, and product information.

  • Prepare, process, file, and maintain relevant documentation and records.

  • Capture and update information on relevant systems and spreadsheets.

  • Assist with the preparation of purchase orders, invoices, job cards, and other administrative documents.

  • Maintain organised electronic and physical filing systems.

  • Follow up on outstanding documentation, orders, quotations, and customer requirements.

  • Assist with scheduling and coordinating installations, site visits, deliveries, and technical appointments.

  • Ensure that administrative tasks are completed accurately and within required time frames.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure that customer, supplier, and company information is handled appropriately.

  • Ensure that all work is completed accurately and according to company policies and procedures.

  • Assist with maintaining accurate stock and equipment information where required.

  • Assist with tracking orders, deliveries, installations, and project progress.

  • Identify administrative discrepancies or quotation errors and bring them to the attention of the relevant person.

  • Maintain a high standard of professionalism and customer service.

  • Perform any other reasonable administrative, quotation, solar, and operational duties as required.

Remuneration:

Salary:
Negotiable

Remuneration will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, technical knowledge, and overall suitability for the position.

Working Hours and Overtime
  • Normal working hours are 8.5 hours per day, 07:30–17:00
    .

  • Overtime may be required from time to time based on operational requirements.

  • Any authorised overtime worked will be compensated accordingly.

Probation
  • The position is subject to a three-month probation period
    .

  • Continued employment will be subject to satisfactory performance during the probation period.
