About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Analytical Chemist to oversee their analytical services department in Bloemfontein . This role involves leading a team of chemists responsible for method development, validation, and routine analysis of diverse chemical compounds. You will ensure the accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of analytical results crucial for product development, quality control, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in various analytical techniques and a proven ability to manage laboratory operations efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of analytical chemists, providing technical guidance, training, and performance management.
- Develop, validate, and optimize analytical methods using techniques such as HPLC, GC, MS, NMR, and spectroscopy.
- Oversee routine sample analysis, ensuring data integrity and compliance with quality standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Troubleshoot analytical instrumentation and resolve complex technical issues encountered during method development or routine testing.
- Author and review analytical method documentation, validation reports, and technical summaries.
- Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality assurance departments to address analytical challenges and support project needs.
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or a related field.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in analytical chemistry, with a strong emphasis on method development and validation.
- Extensive hands-on experience with a variety of analytical instruments and techniques.
- Proven experience in leading and mentoring a team of scientists.
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., GLP, GMP) and quality management systems.
