Geophysicist

Our client is recruiting a skilled Geophysicist to join their exploration team in Bloemfontein . This role is pivotal in interpreting seismic and other geophysical data to identify potential hydrocarbon reserves and guide exploration and development efforts. You will work with geological and engineering teams to develop subsurface models and assess prospectivity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in seismic data processing and interpretation, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for uncovering Earth's subsurface resources within the Oil & Gas context.

• Process, interpret, and integrate various geophysical datasets , including seismic, gravity, and magnetic data.
• Identify and evaluate potential hydrocarbon traps and optimize drilling locations.
• Develop subsurface models and contribute to prospect generation and evaluation.
• Collaborate with geologists and reservoir engineers to build integrated subsurface interpretations.
• Utilize advanced geophysical software and interpretation techniques.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations on geophysical findings and recommendations.

• Master's degree or PhD in Geophysics, or a related geoscience discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in exploration geophysics , with a focus on seismic interpretation.
• Proficiency with industry-standard seismic interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite).
• Strong understanding of seismic data acquisition , processing, and imaging principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with basin analysis and play fairway mapping is desirable.
