Senior Geologist - Mining and Exploration

Our client, a significant player in the mining sector , is looking for an experienced Senior Geologist to join their team in Bloemfontein . This role is instrumental in identifying, evaluating, and developing mineral resources. You will be responsible for leading geological exploration programs, interpreting geological data, and contributing to mine planning and operational efficiency. • Plan, manage, and execute geological exploration programs, including fieldwork and data acquisition.
• Analyze and interpret geological, geophysical, and geochemical data to identify mineral targets.
• Develop and maintain geological models and resource estimates using industry-standard software.
• Collaborate with mine engineers, metallurgists, and geophysicists to optimize mining operations.
• Conduct geological mapping, structural analysis, and core logging.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for exploration strategy and resource development.

• Master's degree in Geology or a related earth science discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in economic geology or exploration geology, with a focus on mining.
• Proficiency in geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, Vulcan, Datamine).
• Strong understanding of mineral deposit types, structural geology, and exploration techniques.
• Experience in supervising field teams and managing exploration budgets.
