The Field Mentor will provide hands‑on technical support, guidance, and quality assurance for Ericsson RBS equipment rollout and maintenance activities. This role ensures operational excellence by supporting field teams, resolving GSM network issues, and maintaining high safety and performance standards.

As a Field Mentor, you will be responsible for guiding and supporting field technicians working on Ericsson RBS installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting tasks. You will oversee site quality, ensure compliance with EHS protocols, and provide on‑site mentoring to enhance technical competency across teams. Working closely with network engineers and project managers, you will assist in resolving integration or hardware challenges while ensuring timely and efficient site delivery.

This role is crucial in maintaining reliable GSM network performance and ensuring field teams meet operational KPIs. You will be placed in either Bloemfontein or East London, with flexibility to support multiple regional sites.

• Provide on‑site technical mentoring for teams working on Ericsson RBS equipment
• Oversee GSM field operations including installation, integration, and troubleshooting
• Ensure adherence to EHS safety standards and verify defensive driving compliance
• Conduct quality checks and validate completion of installation and commissioning activities
• Support fault resolution and escalation processes to maintain network performance
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely and successful site delivery

• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in GSM field operations
• Strong experience working with Ericsson RBS equipment (mandatory)
• Proven expertise in installation, integration, and troubleshooting of GSM sites
• Valid EHS certifications, including Defensive Driving
• Must be currently residing in South Africa

• Experience mentoring or supervising field teams
• Knowledge of LTE/5G radio equipment
• Familiarity with telecom project management processes
• Ability to manage multiple sites or regions
• Strong reporting and documentation skills
