About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Telecommunications Technician to join their team in Bloemfontein . This role is essential for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications infrastructure, including networks, cables, and associated equipment. You will play a key part in ensuring reliable communication services for our diverse client base. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of telecommunications systems, excellent technical skills, and a dedication to providing high-quality service in dynamic environments, working both on-site and remotely to support critical communication networks across the region.
Key Responsibilities- Install, configure, and maintain telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, and servers.
- Perform diagnostics and troubleshoot issues related to network connectivity and voice/data transmission.
- Manage the installation and repair of fiber optic and copper cabling systems.
- Conduct site surveys and plan for new installations or upgrades.
- Ensure all installations and repairs meet industry standards and company specifications.
- Respond to service calls and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Proven experience as a Telecommunications Technician or similar role.
- Solid understanding of telecom network infrastructure , protocols, and equipment.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and testing equipment for fiber optics and copper networks.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various work sites.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
