Field Telecoms Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and technically adept Field Telecoms Engineer to serve the Welkom, Free State region. This role is essential for the hands‑on installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure at client sites. You will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our network services, often working directly with customers to resolve technical issues.

The ideal candidate is comfortable with physical work, possesses excellent diagnostic skills, and is committed to providing exceptional on‑site support, contributing to customer satisfaction and the smooth operation of the company's network services in the area.

• Install, configure, and commission telecommunications hardware and software at customer locations.
• Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting on network and voice systems to identify and resolve faults.
• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of telecommunications infrastructure to prevent service disruptions.
• Respond promptly to service calls and emergency dispatches to address urgent technical issues.
• Provide basic user training and technical support to customers on installed equipment.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Field Engineer in the telecommunications industry.
• Strong understanding of networking principles, VoIP technologies, and cellular infrastructure.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment used in field service.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
