Senior Welder - Structural Steel

Our client is looking for a highly skilled and certified Senior Welder specializing in structural steel to join their construction and fabrication team in Bloemfontein. You will be responsible for interpreting blueprints, performing various welding processes, and ensuring the integrity and quality of all welded joints.

• Perform high-quality welding on structural steel components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Utilize various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding, ensuring proper fusion and strength.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols accurately.
• Inspect welds for defects such as porosity, cracks, and incomplete penetration, performing repairs as needed.
• Ensure adherence to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices on construction sites.
• Collaborate with other trades and site supervisors to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Structural Steel Welder .
• Valid welding certifications (e.g., ECSA, AWS certifications) in relevant welding processes.
• Proficiency in interpreting structural blueprints and welding symbols.
• Experience with various welding equipment and techniques.
• Strong understanding of metal properties and weld integrity testing.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently on construction sites.
