About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive Agricultural Operations Specialist to join their dynamic team in Welkom. This hybrid role supports the efficient execution of farm operations, bridging the gap between on-the-ground activities and strategic planning. You will be involved in optimizing resource utilization, managing equipment logistics, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. This position requires a blend of practical agricultural knowledge and organizational skills, with the ability to contribute both in the field and through data-driven analysis.
The ideal candidate is passionate about modern agriculture and eager to contribute to the success of large-scale farming operations.
- Assist in the planning and execution of daily farm operations, including planting, harvesting, and crop maintenance activities.
- Monitor and manage farm equipment, ensuring proper maintenance, repair scheduling, and efficient utilization.
- Oversee inventory of agricultural supplies, seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides, ensuring timely procurement.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures across all farm operations.
- Collect and analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and cost reduction.
- Coordinate logistics for transportation of produce and supplies, liaising with suppliers and distributors.
- Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Management, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in agricultural operations or farm management.
- Knowledge of farm equipment operation and maintenance.
- Understanding of crop production cycles and best agricultural practices.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and basic data analysis.
