About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Service Technician to support their operations in Welkom. This hands-on role is critical for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of power generation equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance. You will be an integral part of the technical team, responding to service calls, performing routine maintenance, and providing expert technical support to clients in the energy sector.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, possesses strong diagnostic skills, and is committed to delivering high-quality service in a challenging, field-based environment.
- Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of power generation equipment (generators, turbines, etc.).
- Conduct diagnostic tests and troubleshoot equipment failures to identify root causes.
- Respond promptly to service requests and ensure efficient resolution of technical issues.
- Maintain accurate service records, reports, and inventory of spare parts.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and environmental regulations.
- Provide technical assistance and basic training to customer personnel as needed.
- Technical qualification or certification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related trade.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Field Service Technician, preferably in the power generation or heavy industry sector.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field setting.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned region.
