About the Role

Our client is seeking a robust and experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join their dedicated maintenance team in Bloemfontein . This role involves the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of a diverse fleet of heavy-duty trucks, buses, and specialized vehicles. You will be responsible for ensuring the roadworthiness, safety, and optimal performance of these large vehicles, working in a well-equipped workshop environment that supports complex mechanical tasks.

This is a critical role for keeping essential transport services operational and reliable.

• Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy vehicle engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and hydraulic systems.
• Conduct scheduled maintenance, inspections, and preventative servicing to minimize downtime.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic data to identify and resolve complex issues.
• Utilize specialized tools and equipment for heavy vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Ensure all work performed complies with safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Maintain accurate service records and report on vehicle condition and required repairs.

• Proven experience as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or Truck Mechanic.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, and associated heavy vehicle systems.
• Experience with diagnostic equipment and software for heavy-duty vehicles.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various weather conditions.
• A relevant trade qualification (e.g., Diesel Mechanic) is essential.
• Must possess a valid driver's license, preferably with a heavy vehicle endorsement.
