Field Operations Technician

Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable Field Operations Technician to support their operations in the Bloemfontein area. This hands-on role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment essential to oil and gas field operations. You will perform routine checks, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure all equipment operates efficiently and safely. The successful candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, experience working in challenging field environments, and a commitment to upholding high standards of quality and safety.

This is a critical role in ensuring the continuity and efficiency of our client's field activities.

• Perform routine maintenance, inspection, and calibration of field equipment, including pumps, compressors, and pipelines.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on production equipment.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems.
• Monitor operational parameters and respond to alarms and equipment malfunctions.
• Adhere strictly to all safety procedures, lockout/tagout protocols, and environmental regulations.
• Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, equipment status, and parts inventory.
• Operate company vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently.

• Technical qualification (e.g., NQF Level 4/5) in Mechanical Fitting, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Field Technician or similar role in the Oil & Gas or industrial sector.
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain necessary industry-specific certifications.
• Ability to work effectively in physically demanding conditions and a willingness to work irregular hours when required.
