Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of providers and nursing leadership, the Medical Assistant (MA) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, compassionate patient care. This position supports both clinical and administrative functions, ensuring smooth clinic operations and a positive patient experience. We are hiring multiple Medical Assistants across outpatient practices in Pontiac and Bloomfield Township, with Full-Time and Part-Time opportunities available.

• Greet and assist patients upon arrival; escort patients to exam rooms
• Obtain and document medical histories and vital signs
• Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures
• Administer medications and injections as directed
• Perform basic lab testing and prepare/collect specimens
• Schedule appointments and manage medical records
• Answer phones, respond to patient inquiries, and handle correspondence
• Clean, stock, and sterilize exam rooms and medical equipment
• Provide patient education and post-visit instructions
• Assist with minor procedures and wound care
• Manage inventory and order medical supplies as needed
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and patient confidentiality

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills preferred
• Ability to perform a wide variety of clinical skills as related to ambulatory patient care preferred
• Ability to problem-solve preferred
• Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills preferred
• EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience preferred

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum)
• OR Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years
• OR Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical medical assisting
• OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• OR Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years
• OR Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years

• Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by end of orientation
