Responsibilities
Kforce's client is seeking a proactive Controller to partner with our BU General Manager. In this highly visible role, you will drive strategic financial direction and oversee daily accounting, ensuring the accuracy and timely delivery of monthly statements, budgets, and variance analyses.
This role is hybrid (3 days onsite) in Southern California (Greater LA) or Hartford County, CT.
- Governance & Compliance:
Manage risk, credit policies, and internal controls (SOX); serve as the main liaison for auditors and regulatory bodies; ensure GAAP compliance. - Reporting & Close:
Direct internal/external reporting, budgeting, and forecasting; lead monthly (7‑day target), quarterly, and year‑end close processes. - Systems & Process Optimization:
Manage the ERP and consolidation tools to ensure ledger integrity; drive automation and continuous process improvements. - Treasury & Cash Flow:
Oversee cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, and disbursement approvals (ACH, wires, checks). - Operations:
Supervise daily accounting (GL, AP, AR, payroll, labor allocations) and coordinate annual/benefit plan audits. - Business Intelligence:
Deliver margin analyses, financial modeling, and variance insights to guide executive decisions. - Leadership:
Mentor and develop the finance staff, aligning team performance with organizational goals.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related business field.
- CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a plant controller or financial leadership capacity, with hands‑on month‑end close ownership.
- Manufacturing background highly preferred; experience within the Aerospace, Defense, or Industrial sectors is a strong plus.
- Strong grasp of cost accounting, inventory valuation, and leading financial audits.
- Advanced GAAP knowledge, proficiency in enterprise financial software, and expert‑level Excel and financial modeling capabilities.
- Exceptional communication skills with a proven track record of partnering with cross‑functional teams and influencing business decisions.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and capable of managing complex, multi‑disciplinary projects under tight deadlines.
Pay range: the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. Employee pay is based on relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
