Nursing Staff Scheduler

This is a Monday‑Friday, 40‑hour position starting at $20 per hour.

The Nursing Staff Scheduler ensures and manages the nursing scheduling through the use of the scheduling software system. The position will call employees to fill vacancies, leaves, and vacations in order to keep staffing levels within budgetary requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Process requested days off for vacation and leaves.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels on all shifts to ensure quality patient/resident care based on census.
  • Follow directives regarding monitoring and reduction of overtime.
  • Complete and maintain nursing staffing schedules for all units following staffing/scheduling policies.
  • Correct and audit staffing schedules on a weekly basis, responsible for nursing replacements.
  • Maintain attendance records and initiate disciplinary action as it relates to attendance violations.
  • Arrange for substitute/per diem staff or pool staff when scheduled staff cannot work assigned shifts.
  • Communicate with staffing agencies when utilizing pool staff and coordinate agency staff orientation.
  • Process all agency invoices and submit to corporate Accounts Payable Coordinator in a timely fashion.
  • Print out and process daily punch edits and discrepancy forms.
Qualifications
  • Must have experience with computerized scheduling systems.
  • Must have working knowledge (experience preferred) with various software programs such as Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects and work with all disciplines in a challenging multi‑cultural environment.
  • Must be highly organized, energetic, and motivated.
  • Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to speak and write in the English language.
