Special Ed Teacher | Bloomfield, Connecticut

This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with workdays typically lasting about 7 hours and 25 minutes. The assignment begins as soon as possible, and while it is expected to continue through the end of the school year, there is a required 30-day notice for early cancellation if the district hires someone directly. The caseload involves high school students and does not require toileting or feeding responsibilities.

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience working in high school settings is highly preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
• Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
• Flexibility and a passion for supporting diverse learners

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for high school students
• Differentiate instruction to meet a variety of learning needs and academic levels
• Track and report on student progress, adjusting interventions as needed
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment
