Special Education Teacher - Bloomfield, Connecticut

Step into an enriching contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher, working with compassionate colleagues and supportive administrators for the  academic year. This full-time role extends from August through June, with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule ranging from 32.5 to 37.5 hours weekly. The assignment focuses on providing specialized instruction and care to a dedicated caseload of 1st and 2nd grade students.

Your expertise will help nurture young learners as you develop and implement individualized education plans, tailoring each lesson to best suit your students needs and strengths. This pivotal position not only impacts students directly but also fosters strong collaborative relationships with general education teachers, families, and student support staff.

• Valid Special Education Teaching certification appropriate for elementary grades
• Experience creating and maintaining IEPs
• Background working with 1st and 2nd grade students preferred
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to adapt instructional techniques for diverse learning needs
• Collaborative team mindset, with a passion for inclusive education

• Design and implement individualized lesson plans
• Provide direct instruction in accordance with IEP goals
