Looking to redefine the skyline or to be a part of a team who does? We are currently recruiting for a BIM Specialist to join our Bloomfield, CT team!
Job SummaryThe BIM Specialist works within the BIM team using Revit, Rhino, Autocad and Permasteelisa proprietary software (PMF). The specialist is responsible for reading and interpreting 2D fabrication drawings of curtain wall and translating them into BIM models primarily using Revit. The specialist must maintain the PMF software with correct information regarding BIM models.
Responsibilities- Read and interpret architectural drawings related to curtain wall.
- Read and interpret 2D fabrication drawings of curtain wall units.
- Modify existing templates and/or create accurate and detailed 3D models.
- Develop and/or modify custom model components.
- Generate and annotate drawings for submittals.
- Run clash detection and highlight issues to the right stakeholder.
- Ensure all work is maintained and adheres to company and project standards.
- Develop custom parametric components.
- Support project teams with technical issues and perform 3D studies.
- Train and monitor BIM modelers and contribute to standards to ensure high model quality and efficiency.
- Attend BIM coordination meetings and assist with coordination.
- Participate in various design training activities.
- Generate material takeoffs and BOM lists.
- Draft in a variety of CAD environments, primarily AutoCAD.
- Coordinate with other engineering, project management, and field personnel.
- Model and federate generate schedules and drawings following PNA’s global codification of bracketing elements to send information to purchasing and site teams.
- Be involved in safety initiatives and programs, such as the safety committee, inspections, evacuations, and training; apply and follow all safety policies and procedures.

Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree preferred, or Associate’s degree with relevant experience in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
Computer System
Skills:
Proficiency in Revit is a must. Experience with Rhino, AutoCAD, Dynamo, Grasshopper, and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) is a plus.
Work Experience: 5–7 years of related experience; experience in construction/curtain wall industries is a plus.
OtherOvertime work as required to ensure work schedule compliance.
International travel may be required to the country where the project is located or to inter-company meetings responsible for the project execution.
Well organized and strong communication skills.
