Responsibilities- Design, development, and manufacturing implementation of engineering programs that meet business standards and program / product requirements, including functional, cost, reliability, manufacturability, and safety requirements.
- Understanding and applying relevant processes, standards, guidelines, and requirements, including architectural and design constraints.
- Execute designs with solid modeling software (PTC Creo / Windchill) to create models, assemblies, detailed drawings, and BOMs for designs which may include plastic, stamped metal, and electrically conductive parts.
- Lead and support R&D projects, from ideation through manufacturing implementation, driving the achievement of assigned targets (quality, time, scope, cost) and raising and managing risks.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of the chapter, including to the improvement or development of new capabilities, skills, technical knowledge, performance, and/or culture.
- BS Mechanical Engineering or similar educational background
- 3+ years of experience in R&D or a related field
- You have experience in mechanical design (including 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation using PTC Creo or similar tools) and engineering analysis
- Experience in electromechanical design & testing of, and certification standards for, electrical components or equipment (e.g., Panel boards, switchboards, circuit breakers) is preferred
- Experience supporting New Product Introductions (NPI) within a manufacturing environment is preferred
- You are at ease communicating in English
- Able to travel domestically & internationally on an occasional basis
- You have valid US work authorization and must not require sponsorship for an employment visa by ABB at any time in the future
While base salary is determined by the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $68,600 and $109,760 annually.
