Job Summary

The Production Control Coordinator - FT8 will provide oversight, prioritization, and scope of work direction to assure the overhaul and new assembly of FT8 gas turbine engines and PT8 power turbines runs smoothly. The candidate will provide direct support to the Deputy Manager, FT8 Overhauls in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. The coordinator will collaborate effectively internally and with vendors to ensure work is completed to meet schedule requirements.

The opportunity exists to grow and assume additional responsibilities as skills and performance develop.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Learn the FT8 GG and PT inspection, teardown, repair, balance, assembly, tooling, and testing processes.
  • Build a working knowledge of all documentation: assembly sheets, illustrated parts breakdown, overhaul manuals, drawings, bills of material, etc.
  • Prepare shop reports, documenting and photographing all inspections, repairs, and parts used.
  • Provide data entry to update gas generator (GG) and power turbine (PT) electronic records.
  • Monitor and maintain material readiness of all parts required for completing overhauls to meet turnaround time (TAT) commitments.
  • Monitor and assist in driving targeted TATs, including updating vendor delivery dates for production meetings, signaling schedule improvements or delays, and interacting with Spare Parts and Procurement departments to address shortages.
  • Draft procedures for teardown, assembly, and cleaning requirements.
  • Support material requirements for new GG and PT assembly and kitting.
  • Facilitate domestic and international shipment through Operations Department.
  • Confer with repair facilities on process improvements.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Manufacturing or overhaul shop experience, specifically managing production schedules
  • Prior hands-on experience with mechanical assembly and inspection of engines, turbines, or other high tolerance rotating machinery
  • Commitment and drive to meet Company business objectives while focusing on customer requirements
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and task management skills
  • Excellent people skills to foster effective, cross-functional communication
  • Works well within process guidelines and standard operating procedures; ability to identify optimization opportunities
  • Experience and proficiency using SAP
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience required
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in aviation engine overhaul, industrial repair shop, or manufacturing environment
  • Aero-derivative gas turbine experience preferred
Additional Requirement
  • Some travel required (15%); mostly United States, but occasional international travel may be necessary
