Swift Textile Metalizing (STM) is seeking a Site Controller responsible for managing financial analysis and accounting operations, including financial reporting, accounting records maintenance, and oversight of financial transactions. This role plays a critical leadership function in ensuring accurate financial results, strong internal controls, and operational financial insight.

The Site Controller is responsible for maintaining a comprehensive system of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance financial accuracy, and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), including ASC 606 Revenue Recognition standards, and applicable IFRS requirements
.

This role prepares consolidated financial results for management reporting and serves as a key financial partner to operational leadership. The Site Controller reports directly to the Vice President & General Manager.

About Swift: Swift Textile Metalizing develops advanced conductive and metallized fabrics used across aerospace, defense, medical, and industrial applications. The environment is highly technical, low-volume/high-mix, and precision-driven, requiring strong financial discipline and deep operational accounting expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end accounting operations including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Inventory/Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition (ASC 606 compliance required), ensuring all transactions are processed accurately and within established deadlines.
  • Ensure full compliance with ASC 606 revenue recognition standards
    , including contract evaluation, performance obligation identification, transaction price allocation, and proper timing of revenue recognition.
  • Oversee the monthly close process, including analytical review of operating results to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Support and coordinate with shared services accounting teams to ensure timely and accurate close execution.
  • Maintain and enhance the standard cost system, including analysis of:
    • Material costs and labor/overhead rates
    • Standard vs. actual manufacturing costs
    • Cost of sales and cost drivers
    • Purchase price variance (PPV) and manufacturing variances
    • Labor efficiency metrics by value stream
    • Scrap, returns, depreciation, and inventory reserves
  • Analyze P&L and manufacturing variance reports to identify cost drivers and operational improvement opportunities.
  • Develop value stream income statements to support operational decision-making.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, physical inventory, WIP reviews, and reserve analysis.
  • Manage capital project accounting and forecast cash flow impacts.
  • Assist in annual operating budget and forecasting processes (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow).
  • Prepare and review financial statements, providing actionable insights to improve business performance.
  • Support external audit activities, ensuring readiness and compliance with GAAP and ASC 606.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, federal reporting requirements, and tax filings.
  • Review accruals and provisions on a recurring basis.
  • Lead account reconciliations for subsidiary and auxiliary accounts.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to interpret financial results and provide analytical insights.
Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • Master’s degree or CPA preferred.
Experience (Required)
  • Minimum 8+ years of accounting experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years in a Controller or equivalent leadership role.
  • Direct, hands-on experience applying ASC 606 revenue recognition in a professional accounting environment (required).
  • Manufacturing accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or low-volume/high-mix manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience with Government Contracting (FAR/TINA) is a plus.
Skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and financial reporting tools.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and ASC 606 Revenue Recognition standards (required).
  • Deep understanding of cost accounting in manufacturing environments.
