Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented OB/GYN Biller and Accounts Payable Specialist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will manage medical billing processes specific to obstetrics and gynecology services, ensuring accurate coding, timely claims submission, and effective collection of payments. Additionally, you will oversee accounts payable functions, processing vendor invoices efficiently while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.
Your expertise will help optimize revenue cycle management and support the smooth financial operations of our practice, contributing to excellent patient care and organizational success.
- Accurately review and code OB/GYN medical procedures using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) coding systems to ensure precise billing.
- Prepare and submit insurance claims promptly, following up on denials or rejections to maximize reimbursement.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to service delivery to facilitate smooth billing processes.
- Manage accounts payable by processing vendor invoices, verifying accuracy, and ensuring timely payments while maintaining proper documentation.
- Maintain comprehensive medical records and documentation related to billing activities for audit readiness.
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to access patient information, update records, and ensure data integrity.
- Collaborate with medical staff to clarify coding or billing issues and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Stay current with changes in medical coding standards, insurance policies, and healthcare regulations affecting OB/GYN billing practices.
- Proven experience in medical billing with a focus on OB/GYN or related specialties.
- Strong knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems, DRG classifications, and medical terminology.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems used in outpatient settings.
- Experience managing accounts payable processes within a healthcare environment.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks accurately.
- Ability to interpret insurance policies and navigate complex billing procedures effectively.
- Prior experience working with medical records, collections, and insurance claims is highly desirable.
