Distribution Center Manager – Bloomfield, CT (Hiring Immediately)

Accurate Personnel is hiring immediately for a Distribution Center Manager to join our team in Bloomfield, Connecticut.

• Plan layout of warehouse and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored.
• Manage the financial reporting of the warehouse.
• Design, create, and implement production planning for the entire warehouse.
• Advise employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock, and related problems.
• Study records and recommend remedial actions for reported non-usable, slow moving, and excess stock.
• Review records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures and determine adequacy of stock levels.
• Schedule work for special and periodic inventories.
• Trace history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommend remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
• Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow.
• Issue written and oral instructions.
• Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
• Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
• Maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances.
• Adjust errors and complaints.
• Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
• Manage 4–12 subordinate managers who oversee departmental supervisors and a total of 50–100 employees in various departments; responsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
• Carry out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws, including training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, designing and implementing management and operational procedures, and general problem resolution.

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four‑year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bi‑lingual (Spanish) is a plus.
• Must be able to interact with all levels of management and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to manage and lead a diverse workforce.
• Good organizational skills.
• Knowledge of DC operations.
• Strong sense of teamwork.
• Able to adhere to strict deadlines.
• Lifting up to 10 lbs.
• Sitting at a computer for long periods of time.
• Climbing stairs.
• Ability to work in a Distribution Center environment with a variation of temperatures.
