Material Handler
Kamatics is seeking a Material Handler supports daily warehouse and production operations by managing the movement of materials throughout the facility. This role is responsible for shipping, receiving, raw material handling, inventory transactions, and supporting outside processing activities while ensuring accuracy, quality, and safety.
Essential Responsibilities- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Unload trucks, unpack materials, and distribute items to the appropriate departments.
- Prepare outbound shipments by verifying quantities, condition, and shipping documentation.
- Coordinate shipments with internal teams and transportation carriers.
- Load, unload, and transport raw materials throughout the facility.
- Process material receipts and inventory transactions.
- Cut raw material to machinable lengths using a horizontal band saw or similar equipment.
- Deliver materials to internal departments and outside vendors as needed.
- Process purchase orders and documentation related to outside processing suppliers.
- Maintain and update visual tracking boards for outside processing jobs.
- Support raw material inspections and coordinate laboratory testing when required.
- Identify and report material, dimensional, visual, or documentation discrepancies to Materials and Quality leadership.
- Assist manufacturing teams with material movement and inventory needs.
- Troubleshoot routine material flow issues and escalate concerns when necessary.
- Follow established work instructions and quality standards to meet productivity goals.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety and environmental procedures.
- Participate in 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support cross-training and assist in other departments as needed.
- Provide excellent service to both internal and external customers.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 0–2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, inventory, or material handling preferred.
- Manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Forklift experience is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic math and computer skills (Microsoft Office).
- Ability to read and follow work instructions and shipping documentation.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to maintain quality and productivity standards.
- Blueprint reading and experience using measuring instruments are a plus.
- Frequently lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
- Frequently stand, bend, twist, reach, and grasp materials throughout the shift.
- Safely operate material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, hoists, hand trucks, and conveyors.
- Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed to support production and customer requirements.
