Quality Technician/ Inspector, Quality Control / Manager, QA Specialist / Manager
Serve as Process Owner for the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure conformance across all production areas. This second‑shift position supports operations from 6:00p.m. to 6:00a.m. Act as the Subject Matter Expert for site‑level policies, risk assessments, and operational controls. Participate as a Food Safety Team Member, reviewing and validating Food Safety/HACCP Plans. Function as SQF Practitioner and provide backup support to the QA Manager.
Provide backup support for cleaning verification, Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP) tasks, and related activities. Serve as the site Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) for FSMA compliance. Allocate and manage QA resources to support production needs.

- Lead the Plant EMP program; collect, analyze, and report CTQ (Critical to Quality) metrics.
- Utilize strong problem‑solving and root cause analysis tools (5 Why, fishbone, A3).
- Manage QA staffing, schedules, and workflow to support continuous production.
- Attend DDS meetings to communicate holds, provide updates, and reinforce quality and food‑safety priorities.
- Spend at least 50% of time on the production floor, conducting walk‑throughs, GEMBAs, and engaging with QA Techs and Operators.
- Verify critical tasks, including CCPs, Preventive Controls, and quality checks.
- Identify issues proactively and collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Sanitation on resolutions.
- Review QC records, verification paperwork, and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Lead investigations for process deviations, such as missed critical limits or CCP issues.
- Review raw material and ingredient documentation for release approval.
- Oversee hold management, including rework evaluation and destruction processes.
- Coordinate QA schedules and timecards (Kronos).
- Lead training, onboarding, and ongoing proficiency assessments for all QA Technicians.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and professional development for QA team members.
- Manage GMP non‑compliance tracking, accountability discussions, and trending.
- Lead consumer complaint investigations and communication of findings.
- Conduct SQF internal audits and maintain readiness for certification audits.
- Review policies/SOPs, create training materials, and support deployment of updated procedures.
- Collaborate on special projects related to plant initiatives, commercialization, or R&D trials.
- High school Diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of experience in a quality related field and supervisory experience in manufacturing.
- Proficiency with inventory management systems (SAP) and specification/data management tools (OPTIVA, SharePoint, etc.).
- Strong capability in Excel for trending and analytics;
Word and PowerPoint for reporting and communication. - Clear and effective technical writing and documentation skills.
- Training and/or certification in PCQI and SQF requirements.
- Strong problem‑solving and root cause analysis toolset (5 Why, fishbone, A3, etc.).
- Ability to manage QA staffing, schedules, and workflow.
- Experience with environmental monitoring programs and GMP procedures.
- Ability to conduct SQF internal audits and maintain certification readiness.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 2+ years of experience in manufacturing.
- PCQI Certification, HACCP, SQF Practitioner experience.
The target base salary range for this full‑time, salaried position is between $69,400 and $95,500. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. Benefits begin on day one and include medical, dental, short‑term and long‑term disability, AD&D, and life insurance (for individuals, families, and domestic partners). Employees are eligible for a matching 401(k) plan with immediate vesting and are eligible for unlimited sick time, paid time off, and holiday pay.
