The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting and testing aerospace components and assemblies to ensure they meet company and customer specifications. The role involves performing in-process and final inspections, documenting inspection results, and identifying nonconformities. The Quality Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring product quality and compliance with industry standards such as AS9100.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform in-process and final inspections of components, subassemblies, and finished products.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMMs.
  • Document inspection results, nonconformances, and rework instructions accurately and clearly.
  • Work with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Support incoming inspection of materials and components from suppliers.
  • Ensure all inspection and test equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
  • Participate in audits, First Article Inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with AS9100 and other applicable industry and customer standards.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of quality inspection experience in an aerospace or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Experience using precision measurement tools and inspection equipment.
  • Working knowledge of quality standards such as AS9100 and ISO 9001.
  • Strong attention to detail, recordkeeping, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and related software.
  • Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) reports and documentation.
  • Basic understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and quality tools.
Work Environment

Manufacturing floor environment. Requires standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods. Use of PPE is required in designated areas.
