Kamatics is seeking an experienced Senior Quality Inspector
to support our 2nd shift aerospace manufacturing operations. This is a hands-on inspection role responsible for first-piece, in-process, and final inspection of close-tolerance mechanical components and assemblies.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with CMM operation and programming, blueprint and GD&T interpretation, precision measurement, and advanced dimensional inspection techniques
. This position also serves as a technical resource to other inspection personnel and helps ensure production and quality requirements are met.

Shift:
2nd Shift | Monday-Friday, 3:15 PM-12:45 AM
The current production schedule includes one hour of mandatory daily overtime. About Kamatics

What You'll Do Precision Inspection & Quality Assurance
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of precision mechanical components and assemblies to close tolerances.
  • Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final inspections in support of production requirements.
  • Independently interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements to determine appropriate inspection methods and equipment.
  • Identify and document dimensional, surface, visual, material, workmanship, and documentation nonconformances.
  • Create and maintain inspection documentation, including IMS, First Article Inspection (FAI), and other required quality records.
  • Prepare products and documentation for customer and source inspections.
  • Serve as a Designated Supplier Quality Representative when required.
CMM & Precision Measurement
  • Operate and program CMM equipment, including probe calibration and setup.
  • Perform dimensional inspection using precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, dial bore gauges, chamfer gauges, and profilometers
    .
  • Utilize advanced inspection equipment including optical comparators, Sunnen gauges, and Trimos height stands
    .
  • Utilize specialty inspection equipment including Johnson tri-rolls, sine plates, and torque gauges
    .
  • Work with additional inspection technologies and equipment such as swing gauges, contracers, digital comparators, Cadillac gauges, and Keyence IM systems
    .
  • Read and independently interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Apply GD&T principles to inspect characteristics including roundness, parallelism, concentricity, runout, perpendicularity, flatness, and total runout
    .
  • Apply true position and material modifier requirements during inspection.
  • Interpret and measure profile tolerances
    .
  • Apply advanced shop mathematics and GD&T knowledge to determine appropriate gauging and inspection methods.
Technical Leadership & Continuous Improvement
  • Coordinate and prioritize inspection activities to support production schedules.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to inspection personnel as needed.
  • Troubleshoot complex inspection and measurement requirements.
  • Collect, analyze, and communicate inspection data using computer systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, logs, and audit-ready quality documentation.
  • Recommend and support continuous improvement and 5S initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all safety and environmental procedures.
What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of quality inspection experience in a precision manufacturing environment or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with precision measuring devices, gauges, and dimensional inspection equipment.
  • Strong CMM operation and programming experience.
  • Advanced blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills.
  • Ability to independently determine appropriate inspection methods and gauging based on engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience performing first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Strong understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
