School Social Worker - Long Term Substitute
The Social Worker helps students to learn and apply executive functioning and social/emotional skills to access the classroom environment and to overcome obstacles. The Social Worker meets these responsibilities via direct and indirect services to students. Direct services include: providing individual and group school-related counseling, tier one supports to classrooms around social and emotional learning, implementation of IEP goals and objectives as listed in the IEP, performing risk-assessments, and providing crisis intervention.
Indirect services include: supporting SRBI/MTSS, supporting crisis response as a member of the Student Support Team, supporting attendance as a member of the Attendance Team, consulting with teachers, parents, and outside service providers; conducting classroom observations of students; conducting or supporting FBAs/BIPs, conducting developmental histories; participating in PPT and 504 meetings; running 504 meetings for district students, and serving as a home-school liaison to optimize student success.
The School Social Worker also performs related work as required or assigned by his/her supervisor(s).
Qualifications:
A School Social Work certification (071). Master's Degree in Social Work. Successful experience in school social work position preferred. Desired experience working with early childhood and/or preschool aged student.
