Pay Range: $65-77 - W2 hourly
Job Description:
- Develop embedded software for commercial elevator products; work in a team environment and receive guidance from senior members on designing and developing embedded controls.
- Background in embedded system software development, device/system interaction, troubleshooting; involved in all aspects of system software development process (concept, design, validation, production).
- Coordinate activities on projects for elevator control system components including control boards and field tools; implement software features in high‑level C/C++ language.
- Develop and execute unit and integration tests in an engineering lab environment with hardware simulators; document test procedures, test results, software requirements and design implementation details.
- Adapt quickly to a complex environment and understand elevator control hardware and its interfaces to other system components.
- Responsible for regression testing to support software releases and support existing elevator control software by developing new features and enhancing existing ones.
- Perform configuration control and change management of new software and troubleshoot field issues while providing appropriate software solutions.
- Adhere to established coding standards and promote code reviews to deliver high cohesion software.
- Work on both legacy elevator controls and new product development.
- Demonstrate flexibility, deep commitment to learning, great communication skills, and adherence to client’s Absolutes of Safety, Ethics and Quality.
BS or BA in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or closely related field with a minimum of 7 years of experience or a master’s degree in software engineering and a minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Strong embedded C/C++ development experience.
- Technical knowledge in embedded Linux or other RTOS (VxWorks, ThreadX, Green Hills, etc.), interprocess communication, and multithreaded applications.
- Good or VC# experience for designing UI/UX simulator tools.
- Hands‑on development experience with communication protocols like CAN, RS232, RS422, RS485, SPI, I2C, Timers, EEPROM and Flash Driver interfaces.
- Experience with source version control systems (Git, Subversion, Atlassian tools).
- Experience with multithreaded applications and real‑time debugging tools such as emulators, logic serial analyzers, remote debugging, scopes, serial line analyzers, JTAG/BDM, and CANalyzer.
- Experience with Java or Python.
- Experience on Cold Fire and ARM 32‑bit microcontrollers.
- Experience with defect tracking software such as JIRA, Bugzilla; understanding of Cyber Security.
- Ability to understand hardware design and schematics, including electrical line and 3‑line at high level.
- Ability to work in elevator hoistways and machine rooms as needed.
- Working experience in product‑based companies.
