Road and Bridge Construction Inspectors – NJDOT Projects

Dewberry is seeking multiple Road and Bridge Construction Inspectors to work on NJDOT projects in New Jersey. To qualify, candidates must have prior construction inspection experience on NJDOT projects and possess NICET II, III or IV Certification in Transportation/Highway and Bridge Construction or equivalent; NJSAT, ACI – CCTC and Rutgers TCC certifications. Knowledge of NJDOT Site Manager and previous work experience on NJDOT Operations Projects are also desirable.

Additional requirements include excellent communications skills, ability to read and interpret plans, and specifications, and ability to perform complex quantity and engineering computations.

• Conduct on-site inspections of road and bridge construction activities.
• Interpret drawings, specifications, and permits to verify compliance.
• Prepare inspection reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and state agencies.
• Perform quantity and engineering computations as required.

• Minimum 5 years prior road and/or bridge construction inspection experience on NJDOT projects.
• Must possess NICET II, III or IV Certification in Transportation/Highway and Bridge Construction or equivalent.
• OSHA 10 or 30 hour certification preferred.
• NJSAT, ACI Field Grade I Technician, ACI-CCTC and Rutgers TCC certifications.
• Knowledge of NJDOT Site Manager and previous work experience on NJDOT Operations Projects are also desirable.
• Excellent communications skills, ability to read and interpret plans and specifications, and ability to perform complex quantity and engineering computations.
• Physically able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and terrains.
• Ability to repetitively stoop, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 25 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes, in addition to ability to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

The projected hourly range for this position is $40.00–$65.00, depending on skills, experience, location, and market conditions (NJ only).
