Overview
T&M Associates is seeking a Principal Construction Inspector based in any of our Middletown or Bloomfield office, supporting municipal and county infrastructure projects within a one-hour travel radius of the office. This senior-level role serves as the Owner’s representative during the construction phase, ensuring work is completed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities- Serve as the Owner’s on-site representative during construction.
- Perform construction inspection and administration for roadway reconstruction, utility installations, water and sewer systems, concrete work, grading, drainage structures, and site development projects.
- Ensure contractor compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable regulations.
- Prepare and maintain daily field reports and inspection documentation.
- Identify and resolve field issues while coordinating with contractors, project managers, and municipal representatives.
- Provide guidance or oversight to junior inspectors or project team members when needed.
- BA/BS degree or higher in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive construction inspection experience, preferably on municipal or public works projects.
- PE license or NICET Levels I–III certifications preferred.
- Experience with public works, roadway, utility, grading, and drainage projects.
- Knowledge of zoning, subdivision, and land development regulations is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting and documentation.
T&M Associates is committed to pay transparency and equitable compensation practices in compliance with applicable laws, including the New Jersey Equal Pay Act. T&M estimates that the salary range for this position will fall between $80,000 - $103,000. The actual salary offered may vary within this range, depending on a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, educational qualifications, specific skills and knowledge, as well as internal pay equity and geographic location.
