Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education
• Experience working with students who have a range of cognitive, behavioral, and physical needs
• Familiarity with developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt materials and instruction for varying learning styles
• Dedication to fostering an encouraging and respectful classroom environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver personalized lessons that align with students’ IEPs
• Assess student abilities and progress, adjusting instruction as necessary
• Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to advocate for students’ needs
• Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings to review goals and progress
• Implement positive behavioral interventions and supports within the classroom
• Create a welcoming, safe space for students with diverse abilities to learn and grow
