Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with students who have a range of cognitive, behavioral, and physical needs
- Familiarity with developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt materials and instruction for varying learning styles
- Dedication to fostering an encouraging and respectful classroom environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver personalized lessons that align with students’ IEPs
- Assess student abilities and progress, adjusting instruction as necessary
- Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to advocate for students’ needs
- Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings to review goals and progress
- Implement positive behavioral interventions and supports within the classroom
- Create a welcoming, safe space for students with diverse abilities to learn and grow
