Entry Level Traffic Engineer
The Bloomfield, NJ office of Dewberry is seeking an Entry Level Traffic Engineer for its Traffic Engineering Department
. Candidates who are eager to learn will perform traffic studies, traffic analyses, and traffic engineering tasks such as traffic signal design, ITS, and electrical/roadway lighting following state and municipal design standards and practices.

Responsibilities- Work with a team of engineers, planners, and technicians on roadway and transit projects
- Perform field investigations, assisting in traffic analysis, design, and construction support tasks
- Learn planning and design aspects of projects
- Prepare construction cost estimates and quantities
- Design traffic signals and signal timings per agency standards
- Prepare traffic signal plans
- Learn traffic modeling
- Prior software experience including Synchro, HCS, VISSIM, AIMSUN, CUBE, Trans
CAD, ARCGIS a plus
- Bachelor's of Science in Civil or Electrical Engineering.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is preferred.
- 0-3 years experience in the field of traffic engineering.
- Familiarity with ITS technologies and wireless communications is a plus.
- Familiarity with NJDOT, NJTA, NYSDOT, NYCDOT, and/or PANYNJ highway projects preferred but not required.
The projected salary range for this position is $79,800 – $82,300 annually. Depending on other factors, such as skills, experience, location, and market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
