Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a CMT
Senior Technician located in Bloomfield, NJ, Columbia, MD, Washington, D.C., or Pennington, NJ to support our Richmond, VA office.
The position will coordinate and collect samples of diverse materials including soil, sediment, water, and air for environmental tests. It will compile construction quality assurance (CQA) monitoring data and oversee CQA program implementation related to waste containment facility construction projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Perform field and on‑site laboratory tests on materials used in construction and track appropriate testing frequencies.
- Monitor activities at client job sites to assure compliance with relevant contract documents such as technical specifications, construction drawings, sampling plans, and CQA plans.
- Provide CQA monitoring, groundwater sampling, soil and geosynthetics sampling, air monitoring, and oversee contractor activities on construction and environmental sites.
- Prepare daily field reports, weekly construction schedules, progress reports, meeting agendas and minutes, testing and monitoring logs, and related project documentation.
- Ensure project documentation is correct, complete, neat, and consistent with company policies and procedures.
- Interact with project personnel, including contractors, subcontractors, engineers, and clients, and facilitate integrated teamwork through open communication and participation in progress meetings.
- Coordinate and delegate CQA monitoring tasks to subordinate technicians and provide guidance on technical specifications and construction drawings.
- Mentor, guide, and train subordinate technicians as needed.
- Observe technician performance and provide feedback to supervisors and project managers.
- Perform related work as required.
- Travel to client, project, or office sites and other business locations as needed.
- High school diploma or GED and a minimum of four (4) years of applicable experience, or an associate degree or college diploma with a minimum of two (2) years of experience, or a bachelor's degree in science, construction management, engineering, physical science, environmental science, or related fields. (Required)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. (Required)
- Strong mathematical background with basic geometry and algebra calculations. (Required)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, be self‑motivated, and maintain a strong work ethic. (Required)
- Physical ability to lift and/or move up to 49 pounds unaided and 50–100 pounds with assistance or proper engineering controls. (Required)
- Physical ability to speak, hear, stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. (Required)
- Regular field work and overnight travel. (Required)
- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client‑driven drug and background testing. (Required)
- Valid U.S. driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and reliable transportation for business travel. (Required)
- Minimum: $32.33 per hour, Maximum: $45.26 per hour (Pennington, NJ; Washington, D.C.)
- Minimum: $33.80 per hour, Maximum: $47.32 per hour (Bloomfield, NJ)
- Minimum: $30.86 per hour, Maximum: $43.20 per hour (Columbia, MD)
