PMO Support Technical Specialist – Advanced

Job Description
The PMO Technical Specialist – Advanced is part of the Cross Carline & Project Engineering Team, responsible for ensuring overall program feasibility and target setting. This role supports Vehicle Technical Managers across multiple vehicle development programs.
The specialist has broad knowledge of vehicle design and assembly and acts as a program monitor, addressing prototype build issues promptly and coordinating cross-functional resources to enable quick resolution.
Assignments vary based on program needs and phase of development. The specialist may support individual vehicle programs or common modules used across multiple programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Vehicle Technical Manager in overall program coordination and technical execution across technology, manufacturing, quality, and cost domains.
Manage vehicle composition to ensure structural integrity, interchangeability, and alignment of product/process integration.
Coordinate creation, tracking, and governance of connections and fasteners, including leading meetings and maintaining dashboards for escalation and reporting.
Lead and facilitate change management activities, ensuring consistent communication of modifications across multiple sites.
Coordinate and align part modifications with project timelines to achieve quality convergence.
Support convergence of product and process elements (welding, painting, assembly) by coordinating modifications and resolving critical defects.
Organize rework and upgrade workshops for both prototype and production vehicles across multiple development stages.
Collaborate with purchasing and engineering teams on sourcing, part number creation, specifications, trial runs, and issue mitigation.
Ensure all approved modifications are implemented across all relevant manufacturing sites.

Mandatory Skills &

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field from an ABET-accredited university
Minimum 5 years of automotive industry experience at an OEM or large Tier 1 supplier in product development engineering
Strong understanding of vehicle development processes and program execution
Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and self-directed process thinker
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Excellent written and presentation skills with ability to communicate to technical and executive audiences
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power Point
Basic proficiency in CAD and PLM tools
Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management

Preferred (Optional)

Skills:

Full program lifecycle experience including PDP and launch exposure
Experience across multiple vehicle domains (body, chassis, powertrain, electronics, etc.)
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes
Ability to quickly learn proprietary engineering systems and tools
