Opportunity
: A Senior Staff Chemist will support the program from either our Bloomfield, NJ
, Pennington, NJ
, or Columbia, MD office. The Senior Staff Chemist will play a key role in ensuring all chemistry‑related goals are attained and will be present on site during all sampling events.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Serve as the on‑site Radiological Support Chemist during field sampling activities.
  • Familiarity with radiological field sampling equipment, including calibration and operation of field monitoring/measurement devices such as sodium iodide (NaI) detectors and personal dosimeters.
  • Support investigations, studies, design, and remedial actions.
  • Oversee and perform analytical work for radioactive contamination cleanup projects.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable safety and quality standards.
  • Field work up to 80% of the time.
  • Drive personal, company, or rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.
Education and Licensure
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Geochemistry, Environmental Chemistry or Radiochemistry (required).
Skills, Experience And Qualifications
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in investigations, studies, design, and remedial actions at Hazardous, Toxic, and Radioactive Waste sites, specifically calibrating and using radiological field monitoring equipment (e.g., NaI detectors, personal dosimeters, etc.) and/or analytical work on radioactive contamination cleanup projects; or equivalent combination of education and experience (required).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills (required).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with field teams and project managers (required).
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations and guidance related to environmental site assessment and remediation, especially pertaining to radiological contaminants (e.g., MARSSIM and other DOE, NRC, and USEPA documents) (preferred).
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client‑driven drug and background testing may be required.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required).
Compensation and Benefits

This opportunity will be posted for at least five days.

Potential compensation ranges (base salary only) for each location:

  • Columbia, MD:
    Minimum $67,385/year / Maximum $84,230/year
  • Pennington, NJ:
    Minimum $70,595/year / Maximum $88,245/year
  • Bloomfield, NJ:
    Minimum $73,800/year / Maximum $92,250/year
