Position Overview:
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer II-IV to support the design, development, testing, and implementation of mechanical and electromechanical systems for advanced robotic and unmanned vehicle platforms. This role is responsible for researching, planning, designing, and validating mechanical systems while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams. The ideal candidate will contribute to moderately complex projects and work independently as well as within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Research and evaluate customer design proposals, specifications, and technical documentation to determine design feasibility and application suitability.
• Design robotic control systems utilizing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic engineering principles.
• Support fabrication and installation activities to ensure compliance with engineering requirements and customer specifications.
• Coordinate equipment operation, maintenance, and repair activities to maximize system performance and utilization.
• Design and integrate systems involving mechanical hardware, machinery, and software components.
• Evaluate field installations and recommend design improvements to resolve technical issues.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute technical recommendations throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Develop models, prototypes, and engineering documentation to support product validation and manufacturing.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
• 5–7 years of mechanical engineering experience.
• 5–7 years of product and machine design experience using Solid Works, Pro-E, or CATIA.
• Strong proficiency with CAD and Solid Works design tools.
• Experience documenting engineering requirements and design reviews.
• Hands-on experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Ability to perform manual engineering stress calculations.
• Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Experience using engineering calculation tools such as MATLAB or Mathcad.
• Familiarity with Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production methods.
• Familiarity with patent and intellectual property concepts.
• Basic understanding of software development principles.
