Dewberry is seeking a Structural (Rail Bridge)
Project Engineer / Inspector
to join Dewberry’s Bloomfield, NJ office and work as part of our growing nationwide Transit and Freight Rail Practice. The individual will focus on transit and freight rail bridge projects and will be responsible for the successful delivery of high-quality designs and inspections.

The candidate must have design experience on simple and complex bridges (primarily steel and concrete construction) and on a variety of transportation-related structures such as retaining walls and culverts using applicable software for both public and private clients.

Bridge design work encompasses new and replacement bridges, and bridge rehabilitation.

Bridge inspection experience of simple and complex bridges is also required. The individual must have experience working as a Team Leader on bridge and culvert inspections, and be able to coordinate vendors and agencies to furnish equipment, traffic control and rail flagging to successfully and safely perform inspections.

The candidate must be able to successfully work independently as well as with and/or lead a team of structural engineers and drafters, as well as coordinate with other project disciplines, working closely with clients to meet their objectives. The ability and willingness to mentor less experienced staff is required.
