Change Control Lead (Video Streaming Technologies)

Job Description
Technical Skills
- Strong domain knowledge in video technologies, set-top box platforms, and streaming ecosystems
- Good understanding of networking and Wi-Fi technologies impacting video delivery
- Solid understanding of software architecture, system integration, and dependencies across components
- Proficiency in Linux environments and familiarity with C/C++ based systems
- Experience with monitoring and data analysis tools such as Elastic, Splunk, Datadog, or similar
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to assess risk and impact of changes
- Familiarity with SDLC, version control systems, and Agile methodologies
- Experience with release management, change control processes, and production support
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across cross-functional teams
- Strong decision-making skills, especially under ambiguity and time constraints
- Ability to lead change control forums and drive consensus across diverse stakeholders
- Proven ability to prioritize competing demands and manage risk effectively
- Capability to lead teams, delegate responsibilities, and ensure timely delivery of outcomes
- Proactive mindset with focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence
Key Responsibilities:
- Govern, evaluate, and drive all software and configuration changes impacting video/set-top box platforms to ensure stability, quality, and minimal customer impact
- Lead the change review and approval process by assessing risk, impact, and readiness of proposed changes across video systems, middleware, firmware, and network components
- Evaluate field issues, proposed fixes, and enhancements to ensure only well-vetted and high-quality changes are promoted to production
- Collaborate with triage, development, QA, release management, and operations teams to align on priorities, root cause insights, and deployment strategies
- Drive decision-making during Change Control Boards (CCB), balancing urgency, risk, and business impact while providing clear recommendations
- Analyze business intelligence, telemetry, and field metrics (e.g., crash rates, playback failures, network performance) to proactively identify risks and prevent regressions
- Ensure proper change documentation, traceability, rollback strategies, and compliance with release governance processes
- Lead incident reviews related to change failures and drive continuous improvement in change management practices
- Operate in a fast-paced environment coordinating across multiple teams to ensure timely and high-quality releases
- Mentor and guide team members and improve capabilities through training and structured processes
- Stay current with evolving tools, technologies, and best practices in video platforms, cloud services, monitoring systems, and Dev Ops methodologies
